Cincinnati Reds Fifth Ranked Prospect Out Four-to-Six Weeks

The Cincinnati Reds are 7-6 in Cactus League play. They beat the Arizona Diamondbacks last night 9-8. This afternoon they will play the Los Angeles Angels. Graham Ashcraft gets the ball for the Reds and he will face Jack Kochanowicz for the Angels. They got some tough news earlier today as their fifth-ranked prospect and the 91st overall prospect by ITD Cam Collier will be out for four to six weeks with a torn UCL in his thumb and he will undergo surgery.

Cam Collier 

The Reds drafted Cam Collier with the 18th overall pick in the 2022 draft. He spend the 2022 season in rookie ball playing in nine games. Collier hit .370 with a 1.144 OPS. Collier hit a double, two home runs, four RBI, and seven runs scored. In 2023 he played at Single-A with Daytona playing in 111 games. He hit .246 with a .706 OPS. Collier hit 21 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 68 RBI, and 40 runs scored. Last season in 119 games at High-A Dayton he hit .248 with a .798 OPS. Collier hit 21 doubles, a triple, 20 home runs, 74 RBI, and 72 runs scored. Cam Collier was expected to be at Double-A this season if not even Triple-A as he continues to progress.
