Cincinnati Reds Down on the Farm 6/3-6/9

The Cincinnati Reds Minor League Affiliate clubs have all kicked off their seasons. This report is your one-stop shop for finding out how each team did and how the Reds’ top prospects are within the system. Checkin with the Top Ten Prospects

RHP – Rhett Lowder – Chatanooga Lookouts

Lowder made two starts this past series, going 11 innings. He allowed nine hits, three earned runs, walked one, and struck out 12. He had a 2.45 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP during these two outings. As good as he pitched he unfortunately did not factor into the decision in either game. His next start should be Saturday, June, 15th.

3B – Noelvi MarteSuspended 80 Games

Marte is suspended for 80 games. He is coming up on a rehab assignment as his suspension comes to and end. We will update those stats once he starts playing in actual games.

SS – Edwin Arroyo—out for the Year–Chattanooga Lookouts

Arroyo is out for the seaosn.

3B – Cam Collier – Dayton Dragons

Cam Collier played in five games with 14 at-bats over the last seven days. He scored two runs, had four hits, one home run, two RBIs, six walks, and six strikeouts. He ended the series slashing .286/.500/.500 and had a 1.000 OPS.

RHP – Chase Petty– Chattanooga Lookouts

Petty started one game during the six-game series. He pitched four innings without factoring in the decision. He allowed six hits, four earned runs, two walks, two home runs, and struck out four. He finished the day with a 9.00 ERA and a 2.00 WHIP.

RHP – Connor Phillips – Louisville Bats

Phillips started two games this past week and lost both games. He allowed 15 hits, 11 earned runs, three home runs, seven walks, and 10 strikeouts. He finished the outings with an 11.88 ERA and a 2.64 WHIP. He will make one start in this series this coming Saturday, June 15th.

C – Alfredo Duno – Daytona Tortugas

Duno is another new addition to the Reds top 10 prospects this month. He is a 18 year old catching prospect from Venezuela. This year he has 116 at-bats, 18 runs scored, 31 hits, three home runs, 16 RBIs, two Steals. He is hitting for a .287 average, OBP of .367 and a OPS of .789 on the year. He is currently on the seven day injured list and has not played since May, 28th.

RHP – Julian Aguiar – Chattanooga Lookouts

Aguiar is new to the Reds Top 10 prospect list, He is a 23-year-old pitching Prospect. He is 2-2 on the year with a 2.83 ERA and has made 11 starts this year. In his 57.1 innings of work, he has 45 strikeouts and a 1.06 WHIP. This past series he made one start going six innings earning the win. He allowed four hits, one earned run, one walk, and struck out five. He had a 1.50 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP on the start.

RHP – Andrew Moore – Chattanooga Lookouts

Moore is another new addition to the Reds top 10 prospect list. He is a 24-year-old pitching prospect. He has one win, two losses and three saves in 16 games this year. He has pitched in 25.1 innings with 44 strikeouts. He has a 2.84 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP so far this year. This past series he appeared in one game pitching one inning walking one and striking out one.

RHP – Zack Maxwell – Louisville Bats

Maxwell is another new addition to the top 10 this month. He is a 23-year-old right-hand pitching prospect. He has appeared in 21 games so far this year with three wins and no losses on the year. He has pitched 20.2 innings with 36 strikeouts, a 3.05 ERA, and a 1.55 WHIP. This past week he pitched in three games earning one win. He threw 2.2 innings allowing five hits, four earned runs, five walks, and three strikeouts, and had a 13.50 ERA, and a 3.75 WHIP on the week.

The Week Ahead

Louisville Bats (AAA) (34-28)

The Triple-A Louisville Bats dealt with the Nashville Sounds this week. The Sounds are the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Sounds have One of the top Catching Prospects in Jeferson Quero who is the 37th Ranked Prospect for ITD, and the 46th Ranked prospect Tyler Black. The Nashville Sound took the series two games to four. The Louisville Bats will now host the St. Paul Saints the Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins this week.

Chattanooga Lookouts (AA) (15-42)

Last week, the Lookouts played the Rocket City Trash Pandas the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. They lost the series one game to five. They will now host the Montgomery Biscuits for a six-game home stand. The Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Dayton Dragons (High-A) (28-29)

Last week, the Dragons played the Lansing Lugnuts this week. The Lugnuts are the High-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. They ended up splitting the series three games apiece. This week they will host the Great Lake Loons the High-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Tortugas played the St. Lucie Mets the Single-A affiliate of the New York Mets. They won the series four games to two last week. They will host the Palm Beach Cardinals next, the Single-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
