The Cubs optioned right-handed pitcher Gavin Hollowell and catcher Moises Ballesteros to Triple-A Iowa to make room on the roster.

Willi Castro
Castro, acquired from the Minnesota Twins yesterday, has played in 86 games this season. He’s hitting .245 with a .743 OPS.
