Chicago Cubs Down on the Farm 5/13-5/19

Chicago Cubs Top 10 Prospects Check-In

OF – Pete Crow-Armstrong – Chicago Cubs

Crow-Armstrong played four games for the Chicago Cubs this past week. He had 10 at-bats with one run scored, two hits, one triple, two RBIs, four strikeouts, and two stolen bases. He slashed .200/.333/.400 with a .733 OPS this past week for the Cubs.

RHP – Cade Horton – Iowa Cubs

Horton made one start for Iowa this past week. He earned the win after going five innings allowing four hits, three earned runs, one walk, and three strikeouts. He had a 5.40 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP. He should see his next start come this coming Wednesday, May 22nd.

OF – Owen Caissie – Iowa Cubs

Caissie played five games in this series. He had 21 at-bats, two runs scored, seven hits, three doubles, three RBIs, four walks, seven strikeouts, and slashed .333/.440/.476 with a .916 OPS On the series.

1B – Michael Busch – Chicago Cubs

Michael Busch played in five games in the last seven Cubs. He had 12 at-bats, three runs scored, two hits, one double, six walks, seven strikeouts, and slashed .167/.444/.250 with a .694 OPS.

OF – Kevin Alcantara – Tennessee Smokies

Alcantara played in five games in the last seven days for the Smokies. He had 19 at-bats with one run scored, three hits, one double, two walks, and one strikeout in the last seven days. He slashed .158/.238/.211 with a .449 OPS.

2B/3B – Matt Shaw – Tennessee Smokies

Shaw played in six of the Smokies’ games this past week. He had 22 at-bats, one run scored, five hits, one double, two walks, and five strikeouts. He slashed .227/.292/.273 with an OPS of .565.

2B – James Triantos – Tennessee Smokies

Triantos played in six games for the Cubs in the last seven days. He had 24 at-bats, two runs scored, six hits, one double, one RBI, two strikeouts, and two stolen bases. He slashed .250/.240/.292 with a .532 OPS on the week.

P – Jordan Wicks – Chicago Cubs

Jordan Wicks did not pitch this past week as he is still on the 15-day injured list with a left forearm strain.

RHP – Ben Brown – Chicago Cubs

Brown pitched in two games for the Cubs in the last seven days. He threw four innings of work. He allowed five hits, one earned run, one walk, and struck out six. He finished the week with a 2.25 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP.

1B – Moises Ballerestos – Tennesee Smokies

Ballesteros played in six of the games this week. He had 19 at-bats, two runs scored, four hits, four RBIs, two walks, two strikeouts, and slashed .211/.304/.368 with a .672 OPS this week.

The Week Ahead:

Iowa Cubs (20-25)

In their six-game series against the Syracuse Mets, Iowa struggled only winning one of the six games on the Road. The Syracuse Mets are the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Iowas heads home to take on the Indianapolis Indians this week for a six-game series. Indianapolis is the Triple-A affiliate for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
