Chicago Cubs Down on the Farm 4/2-4/7

Chicago Cubs Top 10 Prospects Check-In

OF – Pete Crow-Armstrong – Iowa Cubs

Crow-Armstrong played in all six games for the Iowa Cubs this series. He had 21 at-bats with, five runs scored, six hits, two doubles, one triple, one home run, three RBIs, one walk, two Ks, and two steals. He slashed .286/.318/.619 with a .937 OPS on the series.

P – Cade Horton – Tennessee Smokies

Horton didn’t pitch this weekend for Tennessee in the opening series of the season.

OF – Owen Caissie – Iowa Cubs

Caissie played in all six games in This series. He had 17 at-bata, two runs scored, two hits, one double, five RBIs, four walks, 10 Ks, and slashed .118/.318/.176 with a .494 OPS On the series.

1B – Michael Busch – Chicago Cubs

Michael Busch played in all Six games this week for the Cubs. He had 18 at-bats, three runs scored, seven hits, two doubles, one home run, five RBIs, one walk, and three strikeouts, and slashed .389/.400/.667 with a 1.067 OPS on The week.

OF – Kevin Alcantara – Tennessee Smokies

Alcantara played in two Games in the opening series for the Smokies. He had nine at-bats with four strikeouts in the Series. He went hitless and never got on base for the Smokies this weekend.

2B/3B – Matt Shaw – Tennessee Smokies

Shaw played in Two of the three games for the Smokies This weekend. He had six at-bats, three runs scored, two hits, one home run, two RBIs, two walks, two strikeouts, And stole two bags. He slashed .333/.556/.833 with an OPS of 1.389 on the weekend.

2B – James Triantos – Tennessee Smokies

Triantos played in all three games for the Cubs this series. He had 14 at-bats, three runs scored, seven hits, two doubles, three RBIs, one walk, two strikeouts, one stolen base, and slashed .500/.533/.643 with a 1.176 OPS on the weekend.

P – Jordan Wicks – Chicago Cubs

Jordan Wicks pitched Saturday, April, 6th against the Los Angeles Dodgers going 4.2 innings he gave up six hits, two earned runs, one walk, and struck out seven. He did take the loss but pitched well against a very difficult Dodgers lineup. His ERA now sits at 4.15 on the year as well as a 1.73 WHIP on the season.

P – Ben Brown – Chicago Cubs

Brown came in and pitched four strong innings against the Colorado Rockies Wednesday night. He gave up three hits, one earned run, and one walk and he struck out five in the second appearance of the year. His ERA now has dropped to 11.12 and his WHIP sits at 1.94 on the young season.

1B – Moises Ballerestos – Tennesee Smokies

Ballesteros played in two of the three Games this weekend. He had seven at-bats, one run, one hit, one walk, one strikeout, and slashed .143/.250/.143 with a .393 OPS this weekend.

Iowa Cubs

The Iowas Cubs went four and two against the Toledo Mushens this past series improving their record to 5-4 on the season. They will travel to play a six-game series against The St. Paul Saints next. The Saints are the Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins with a 5-3 Record on the year.

Tennessee Smokies

The Tennessee Smokies opened their season with a 2-1 series victory over the Rocket City Trash Pandas this weekend. They will now travel to play the Chattanooga Lookouts the Cincinnati Red Double-A affiliates. The Lookouts have Chase Petty one of the ITD top Ranks prospects on their roster to watch out for this weekend.

The South Bend Cubs opened their season with a series loss to the Quad Cities River Bandits 1-2. They now will host their first series of the season against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers the Milwaukee Brewers Affiliate for a six-game series.

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans lost their first series of the season to the Fayetteville Woodpeckers the Single-A affiliate 1-2. They will head to Columbia to face the Fireflies the Single-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals this week for a six-game set.
