Summary
With this move, the Diamondbacks continue to invest long-term in their pitching staff. They signed Corbin Burnes to a six-year 210 million dollar contract this offseason. Now they have Pfaadt locked up for the foreseeable future. One has to wonder what this means for 2026, pending free agent Zac Gallen. He took the mound in the season opener. The Diamondbacks are in a tough National League West. The creative spending of the Los Angeles Dodgers makes it interesting to see what unfolds with Zac Gallen. Locking up Gallen would be a costly move, but it would solidfy this rotation for the future and allow the team to compete in one of the toughest divisions in all of baseball
