Red Sox Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Boston Red Sox are currently in the middle game of their three-game series with the Seattle Mariners. Today the 2024 Trade Deadline came and went with the Red Sox bringing in two relievers Lucas Sims and Luis Garcia. Besides who they acquired today they also made some roster moves as they activated Yohan Ramirez and designated Trey Wingenter for assignment. 

Red Sox Moves By The Numbers 

RHP – Yohan Ramirez 

Ramirez is on his fourth team in 2024 having pitched with the Baltimore Orioles, New York Mets, and Los Angeles Dodgers. In 37 games he is 0-5 with a 5.98 ERA, 4.19 FIP, a 1.44 WHIP, a 3.5 BB/9, and a 9.1 K/9 in 43.2 innings. 

RHP – Trey Wingenter

Wingenter last night in 1.1 innings gave up four runs on three hits; he walked one and struck out two. In his first outing, he went one inning giving up three runs in two hits; he walked one and struck out one. 

RHP – Lucas Sims

Sims this season in 43 appearances is 1-4 with a 3.57 ERA, a 4.88 FIP, a 1.42 WHIP, a 5.1 BB/9, and a 10.2 K/9 in 35.1 innings. For his career, he’s appeared in 230 games with 14 of those coming as starts going 22-17 with a 4.41 ERA, a 4.42 FIP, a 1.28 WHIP, a 4.6 BB/9, and a 10.6 K/9 in 292 innings. 

RHP – Luis Garcia 

Garcia this season has appeared in 45 games going 5-1 with a 3.71 ERA, a 3.68 FIP, a 1.17 WHIP, a 2.9 BB/9, and an 8.2 K/9 in 43.2 innings. In his 12-year career, he’s appeared in 530 games with four of those coming as starts going 26-28 with a 4.02 ERA, a 3.95 FIP, a 1.41 WHIP, a 4.0 BB/9, and an 8.5 K/9 in 512.2 innings.
