The Boston Red Sox won their eighth straight game last night behind a walkoff home run from Ceddanne Rafaela. This morning ahead of the third game of their series with the Rays, the Red Sox received tough news. Right-handed pitcher Hunter Dobbins was placed on the 15-day injured list with an ACL tear. The injury occurred last night in the middle of the game. It happened on a ground ball to first base. Dobbins was covering the base. To replace Hunter Dobbins on the active roster, the Red Sox are recalling right-handed pitcher Richard Fitts from Triple-A Worcester. Dobbins last night before leaving the game went 1.2 innings giving up one run on two hits. He walked one and struck out two.

Hunter Dobbins 

Dobbins this season in 13 games with 11 of those coming as starts for the Red Sox is 4-1. He posts a 4.13 ERA, a 1.28 WHIP, and 45 strikeouts in 61 innings. In four games two of which came as starts in the minors, he is 1-0. Hunter Dobbins posts a 5.09 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts in 17.2 innings. 

Richard Fitts 

Fitts in eight starts this season are 1-3. He posts a 4.28 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP, and 28 strikeouts in 33.2 innings. In the minors, he’s made four starts going 1-1. He had a 4.20 ERA, a 1.47 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts in 15 innings.
