Red Sox Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Boston Red Sox took the first game of their four-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Tonight, ahead of the second game of the series, the Red Sox made a flurry of roster transactions. They first activated third baseman Alex Bregman and right-handed pitcher Hunter Dobbins off the injured list. To make room for Bregman and Dobbins’ return the Red Sox optioned infielder David Hamilton and right-handed pitcher Isaiah Campbell to Triple-A Worcester.

Alex Bregman

Bregman, this season in 51 games with the Red Sox, is hitting .299 with a .938 OPS. He has 17 doubles, 11 home runs, 35 RBI, 32 runs scored, a stolen base, and 22 walks. He was named a reserve for the 2025 All-Star games.

Hunter Dobbins

Dobbins is 4-1 this season with a 4.10 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP, and 43 strikeouts in 59.1 innings. In four minor league games, with two of those coming as starts this season, he is 1-0. Dobbins posts a 5.09 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts in 17.2 innings.

David Hamilton

Hamilton, in 61 games this season, is hitting 179 with a .505 OPS. He has three doubles, three home runs, 12 RBI, 16 runs scored, 15 stolen bases, and seven walks. This will be his first stint at Triple-A Worcester this season.

Isaiah Campbell

Campbell, in his lone game with Boston this season, went two innings, giving up two runs on four hits. He didn’t record a strikeout or a walk. In 30 games with Worcester, he is 5-4 with a 3.89 ERA, a 1.53 WHIP, and 33 strikeouts in 39.1 innings. The stint for Campbell is short after he was called up the other day and is now optioned back down.
