Boston Red Sox Add Starting Pitcher

Red Sox Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Boston Red Sox today announced the signing of left-handed starting pitcher Patrick Sandoval to a two-year deal worth $18.5 million. Sandoval is coming off having Tommy John surgery and likely won’t return until the second half of the 2025 season. The Red Sox if all stay healthy will have a starting rotation in the second half of Garrett Crochet, Tanner Houck, Kutter Crawford, Brayan Bello, Lucas Giolito, and Sandoval. The move is a nice addition for the 2026 season as Sandoval will have a full season with the Red Sox as Boston is not only looking at 2025 but also competing in 2026.
