The Baltimore Orioles, boasting the MLB’s number-one farm system, got bigger. The club has agreed to terms with nineteen young players, hailing from the Dominican Republic (13) and Venezuela (6), on the first day of the International prospect signing window. The Orioles landed two of the top thirty international prospects in Stiven Martinez (OF, Dominican Republic), the number 28 international prospect, and Emilio Sanchez (SS, Dominican Republic), the number 30 international prospect.
Martinez is said to possess raw power both offensively and defensively. As one of the youngest players in this class, he has a lot of potential but a lot of growing to do. Sanchez has the makings of an everyday player and has offensive and defensive potential. He displays his prowess with accurate throwing capabilities and power behind the bat.
The remaining members of this class are as follows: Christian Astuoillo (C, Venezuela), Anthwan Brea (OF, Venezuela), Hector Campusano (SS, Dominican Republic), Frainner Chirinos (3B, Venezuela), Enmanuel Corniel (OF, Dominican Republic), Luis Espinoza (RHP, Venezuela), Angel Garcia (OF, Venezuela) Elvin Garcia (SS, Dominican Republic), Juan Adames Garcia (C, Venezuela), Saul Gomez (3B, Dominican Republic), Esteban Mejia (RHP, Dominican Republic), Yaki Mondesir (RHP, Dominican Republic), Jemone Nuel (SS, Dominican Republic), Alexander Rincon (OF, Dominican Republic), Victor Santos (LHP, Dominican Republic), Argenis Valdez (OF, Dominican Republic), and Cleudi Valenzuela (SS, Dominican Republic).
The raw talent in this class is ready to be shaped and molded into an already powerful farm system. With the backing of that number one farm system, the Orioles will surely be World Series contenders for years to come.
