
The Atlanta Braves finish their three-game series with the New York Mets tonight. The Braves dropped the opener 13-5 but took the middle game 11-6. Atlanta is 6-6 in August, averaging five runs per game while allowing 4.8 runs per game. Ahead of today’s finale, the Braves recalled right-handed pitcher Hunter Stratton from Triple-A Gwinnett and designated right-handed pitcher Carlos Carrasco for assignment.

Hunter Stratton
Stratton, in two games for the Braves this season, didn’t allow a run on three hits. He walked two and struck out two in two innings. In seven minor league games for the Braves, he is 1-1 with a 0.96 ERA, a 0.75 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts in 9.1 innings. The Braves acquired Stratton from the Pirates on July 1st. In three games for the Pirates, he posted a 23.63 ERA, a 4.50 WHIP, and one strikeout in 2.2 innings. In 21 games for the Pirates Triple-A affiliate, he went 0-1. He posted a 3.65 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP, and 24 strikeouts in 24.2 innings.
Carlos Carrasco
The Braves purchased Carrasco on July 28th from the New York Yankees. In three starts, he posted a 9.88 ERA, a 6.18 FIP, a 2.12 WHIP, and nine strikeouts in 13.2 innings. In eight appearances with six coming as starts for the Yankees, he went 2-2 with a 5.91 ERA, a 1.53 WHIP, and 25 strikeouts in 32 innings. Carrasco in 11 appearances with ten of those coming as starts at the Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate, went 4-2. He posted a 3.27 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts in 52.1 innings.
