Two World Series Favorites Make a Trade

The Philadelphia Phillies currently lead the National League East by 9.5 games while the Baltimore Orioles lead the American League East by two games. Today the two teams agreed to a trade to help make both teams better as the Phillies acquired outfielder Austin Hays from Baltimore in exchange for RHP Seranthony Dominguez which addresses some bullpen help for the Orioles and outfielder Christian Pache.

OF – Austin Hays

Hays is in his age 29 season, he has spent all seven seasons of his big league career with the Orioles playing in 557 games hitting .262 with a .747 OPS; he has 121 doubles, eight triples, 66 home runs, 242 RBI, 269 runs scored, 15 stolen bases, and 126 walks. This season in 63 games he is hitting .255 with a .711 OPS; he has 13 doubles, three home runs, 14 RBI, 18 runs scored, and nine walks.

RHP – Seranthony Dominguez

Dominguez is a 6-1 RHP who has spent six seasons with the Phillies making 230 appearances going 19-17 with 28 saves, a 3.55 ERA, a 3.71 FIP, a 1.19 WHIP, a 3.7 BB/9, and a 10.3 K/9 in 220.2 innings. This season he’s appeared in 38 games going 3-2 with one save, a 4.75 ERA, a 4.26 FIP, a 1.22 WHIP, a 3.0 BB/9, and a 10.0 K/9 in 36 innings.

OF – Christian Pache

Pache has spent time with the Atlanta Braves, Oakland A’s, and Phillies playing in 213 games hitting .179 with a .515 OPS; he has 20 doubles, four triples, six home runs, 42 RBI, 45 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 40 walks. This season in 50 games he’s hitting .202 with a .557 OPS; he has five doubles, one triple, nine RBI, nine runs scored, and 13 walks.
