The Toronto Blue Jays start a crucial series against the Houston Astros tonight. The Blue Jays enter the series 3-3 in September, averaging 6.7 runs per game while allowing 5.2 runs per game. Toronto suffered a blow ahead of this upcoming series as they placed shortstop Bo Bichette on the 10-day injured list with a left knee sprain retroactive to September 7th. To take Bichette’s spot on the roster, Toronto is recalling Joey Loperfido from Triple-A Buffalo.

In 91 games at Triple-A Buffalo, he hit .264 with a .743 OPS. He had 22 doubles, a triple, seven home runs, 44 RBI, 46 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, and 29 walks.
