The Toronto Blue Jays dropped their second straight game last night 2-0 to the Texas Rangers, prior to this losing streak they had won three in a row and four of their last five, this month the Blue Jays are 5-9. Toronto got Bo Bichette back to their lineup on Tuesday and he went 2-5 with an RBI but the return didn’t last long as he suffered a right middle finger fracture which has led to him being placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to yesterday which will likely end his season. With Bichette on the injured list, the Blue Jays have recalled outfielder Jonatan Clase from Triple-A Buffalo.

SS – Bo Bichette

Bichette was drafted in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft by Toronto. He is in his sixth season with the Blue Jays, he’s a career .290 hitter with a .798 OPS; he has 146 doubles, seven triples, 93 home runs, 343 RBI, 360 runs scored, 56 stolen bases, and 147 walks. This season he’s had a down year, in 81 games he’s hitting .225 with a .598 OPS; he has 16 doubles, a triple, four home runs, 31 RBI, 29 runs scored, five stolen bases, and 20 walks. At Triple-A Buffalo this season in his rehab he played in four games hitting .286 with a .643 OPS; he had a double, two RBI, and a run scored.

OF – Jonatan Clase

Clase made his debut this season with the Seattle Mariners and in 19 games he hit .195 with a .452 OPS; he has a double, three RBI, four runs scored, three stolen bases, and two walks. The Blue Jays acquired him on July 26th for Yimi Garcia, since joining the Blue Jays organization he has played in 35 games at Buffalo hitting .244 with a .651 OPS; he had ten doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, 19 runs scored, 12 stolen bases, and nine walks.
