The Toronto Blue Jays lost the opener of their three-game series against the Boston Red Sox after giving up four runs in the eighth inning and a walk-off in the bottom of the ninth. The Blue Jays were trailing 2-1 entering the seventh inning when they exploded for five runs starting with RBI singles from Kevin Kiermaier and Spencer Horwitz to make it 3-2 then Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a three-run home run to make it 6-2.
