Just before game time, the Texas Rangers announced several moves were being made. Rookie infielder Justin Foscue was moved to the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain. The injury comes on the heels of his first Major League hit, an RBI single against Houston Astros closer Josh Hader in the bottom of the 9th inning in the April 7th game in Arlington, driving home the only run that the Rangers would score. Injured superstar Josh Jung has been moved to the 60-day injured list following a far more intensive wrist repair surgery than initially anticipated. His original expected recovery period was 6-8 weeks, but the damage was worse than expected, extending his recovery time to 8-10 weeks. Jung joins Carson Coleman, Jacob deGrom, and Tyler Mahle on the 60-day injured list. Moving Jung to the 60-day injured list frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the Rangers to purchase the contract of infielder Davis Wendzel. Given that Grant Anderson made his first appearance in 2024, the same day he was recalled, Wendzel may have arrived in Arlington by game time.
