SF Giants Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Giants opened the new season with a four-game series against the San Diego Padres. They split the series with the division rival 2-2. No rest for the Giants as they travel to Dodgers Stadium for a three-game set before heading back home to see the Padres again. They made a series of moves before the first game against the Dodgers.

OF – Mike Yastrzemski

Mike was placed on the 10-day Paternity list today, Congrats! So far on the year he has had four at-bats and has been held hitless.

SS – Otto Lopez

The Giants designated Lopez for assignment ahead of the game. Lopez has played in two games for the Sacramento River Cats this year with six at-bats and only one hit. 

RHP – Nick Avila

Avila had his contract selected by the Giants from the Sacramento River Cats today. He has made one appearance in Triple-A pitching one inning, striking out two, and has a 1-0 record so far.

OF – Luis Matos

The Giants optioned Matos to the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats today. He played one game for the Giants getting four at-bats having no hit and one RBI on the year.

RHP – Daulton Jefferies

Jefferies was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento River Cats before the game with the Dodgers. He made one appearance for the Giants against the Padres on Sunday. He pitched two innings, gave up nine hits, five earned runs, and struck out one during his time. He started the game ending with a 22.50 ERA, and a WHIP of 4.50.
