Potential Future World Series Matchup on Display Last Night

Last night the spring breakout games got underway with the Baltimore Orioles taking on the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates came out on top 3-1 a game that saw some of the best prospects featuring eight players in ITD’s top 100. The Orioles used only two pitchers who threw three innings a piece while the Pirates used their arsenal of arms and showcased what they are carrying into the future that will join Oneil Cruz and Bryan Reynolds at some point. The Orioles hitters struggled against any pitcher the Pirates had for them as they only mustered up one hit which was a single from Enrique Bradfield in the third. Luis Valdez scored the Orioles lone run on a sacrifice fly in the second.

Orioles Stars

Enrique Bradfield

Bradfield is the 93rd overall prospect by ITD and the Orioles sixth-ranked prospect. Last night he had the lone hit for Baltimore going 1-3.

Jud Fabian

Fabian is the Orioles tenth-ranked prospect by ITD and last night he went 0-0 with two plate appearances, he drove in the lone Baltimore run on a sacrifice fly and drew a walk.

Luis Valdez

Valdez last night caused an issue on the base paths after Samuel Basallo drew a walk he came into pinch run and would steal second base and third base before Fabian drove him in with the sacrifice fly.

Pirates Stars

Hunter Barco

Barco is the Pirates tenth-ranked prospect by ITD. He went two innings last night the only Pittsburgh pitcher to go more than one inning and he gave up a hit, no runs, no walks, and struck out one.

Paul Skenes

Skenes is the number two prospect by ITD and the Pirates top prospect. He got the start and struck out two of the three hitters he faced touching as high as 102 MPH. He got top prospect Jackson Holliday to strike out winning the second battle these two have had this spring.

Patrick Reilly

Reilly came in and went one inning of relief in the sixth and he struck out the side on 16 pitches.

Jase Bowen

Bowen had a day at the plate going 2-3 with a single in the fourth inning and a single in the sixth inning. The only hitter in the entire game to record two hits.
