He was the fourth-ranked shortstop and the 15th-ranked overall player in California. At Los Gatos, he hit .321 and had a .446 OBP; he had 88 hits, 24 doubles, six triples, 11 home runs, 58 RBI, 75 runs scored, 41 stolen bases, and 55 walks. In his final season at Stanford, he slashed .394/.478/.699 with a 1.177 OPS in 58 games; he had 17 doubles, four triples, 17 home runs, 58 RBI, 76 runs scored, 17 stolen bases, and 35 walks. In all three seasons at Stanford, they made the College World Series.
