Milwaukee Brewers Roster Transaction

Milwaukee Brewers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Milwaukee Brewers have lost Corbin Burnes in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles, but today, they have made a move to bring back an arm that can help them at the end of the year and in 2025 hopefully. Today they have resigned Brandon Woodruff to a two-year deal. The team has yet to confirm the deal, but MLB Networks insider Jon Heyman reports the deal is a two-year deal.

RHP – Brandon Woodruff

Woodruff was outrighted by the team just at the end of the 2023 calendar year after undergoing shoulder surgery. Woodruff will most likely miss the full 2024 season due to the surgery but will be back for the 2025 season. Now we just will have to see how he returns at the age of 32 during that season coming off the surgery. Woodruff for his career has made 115 starts going 46-26 with a 3.10 ERA, a 3.19 FIP, a 1.04 WHIP, a 1.0 HR/9, a 2.3 BB/9, and a 10.4 K/9. He is a two-time All-Star and in 2021 he finished fifth in the Cy Young voting.

Summary

The Brewer’s current rotation is a mess behind Freddy Peralta, but do have some young arms coming up through the system that could benefit from a second veteran arm to help guide them as they go through the long Major League season. I like bringing Woodruff back and hope he can make a full recovery and return to the mound with his same effective arsenal in 2025.
