The Marlins enter today with an 8-7 record. Tonight, they kick off a three-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks in Miami. After the Diamondbacks, the Marlins head to Philadelphia for a three-game series with the Phillies. The Marlins are in third place in the NL East right now. They are two and a half games back from the New York Mets. Before game one of the series with Arizona, the Marlins announced two roster moves. The team is activating Jesus Sanchez while designating another for assignment. Sanchez is set to make his 2025 season debut in Arizona for the Marlins.

Jesus Sanchez – CF

The Miami Marlins have activated Sanchez from the 10-day injured list. Sanchez is returning to the Marlins after a three-game rehad stint with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in Triple-A. He had two runs, three hits, one double, and one steal in Triple-A. In those three games, he had a .300 batting average and a .764 OPS. Last season, he played in 149 games for Miami. He had 60 runs scored, 123 hits, 25 doubles, one triple, 18 home runs, 64 RBI, and 16 steals. Sanchez had a .252 batting average and a .730 OPS in 2024. The Marlins will start Sanchez in Center tonight.

Jonah Bride – 1B

The Miami Marlins have designated Bride for assignment today ahead of their game with the Diamondbacks. He has played in 12 games for the Marlins so far this year. Bride has three runs, four hits, and two RBI. He has a .100 batting average and a .300 OPS on the year.
