The Kansas City Royals aim to avoid getting swept by the Cleveland Guardians. They wrap up their series today. They will have their ace Cole Ragans on the mound. Ragans will face Ben Lively for the Guardians. Ahead of today’s game, the Royals placed left-handed pitcher Sam Long in the 15-day injured list. He has left elbow inflammation. They recalled left-handed pitcher Evan Sisk from Triple-A Omaha. Long in seven appearances is 0-2 with a 12.86 ERA, a 2.43 WHIP, and six strikeouts in seven innings pitched. Sisk has made six appearances in Omaha, has a save, and has allowed an earned run. Sisk has allowed four hits and struck out four in 4.2 innings.

Sam Long 

Long is in his second season with the Royals. Last season in 43 games he went 3-3 with a save, a 3.16 ERA, a 1.20 WHIP, and 44 strikeouts in 42.2 innings. He also appeared at Triple-A Omaha making 16 appearances going 1-2 with two saves, a 1.31 ERA, a 1.07 WHIP, and 23 strikeouts in 20.2 innings.

Evan Sisk

Sisk last season in Omaha made 58 appearances going 6-2 with 15 saves, a 1.57 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, and 81 strikeouts in 57.1 innings.
