Detroit Tigers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Detroit Tigers will wrap up their three game series against the Toronto Blue Jays as they look to finish off a sweep after winning Friday 5-4 and yesterday 7-3. Before todays finale they made a flurry of roster moves first optioning Ryan Vilade to Triple-A Toledo as we all as placing Reese Olson on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder strain. The corresponding moves are they have selected Bligh Madris from Toledo as well as Easton Lucas; to make room for Madris, Kerry Carpenter was transferred to the 60-day injured list. 

  • INF/OF Ryan Vilade optioned to Triple-A Toledo
  • RHP Reese Olson placed on 60-day injured list
  • INF/OF Bligh Madris selected from Triple-A Toledo
  • LHP Easton Lucas recalled from Triple-A Toledo 
  • OF Kerry Carpenter transferred to 60-day injured list

INF/OF – Ryan Vilade

Vilade has played in nine games hitting .296 with a .752 OPS; he had one home run, four RBI, four runs scored, and two walks. With Toledo this season he’s played in 70 games hitting .286 with a .837 OPS; he had 16 doubles, nine home runs, 42 RBI, 33 runs scored, 13 stolen bases, and 28 walks. 

RHP – Reese Olson

Olson this season has made 19 starts going 4-8 with a 3.23 ERA, a 3.12 FIP,  a 2.7 BB/9, and an 8.0 K/9 in 103 innings. Yesterday he only went two inning giving just one hit, he didn’t allow a run; he walked two and didn’t record a strikeout.

INF/OF – Bligh Madris 

Madris has played in 80 games with Toledo hitting .236 with a .803 OPS; he has 16 doubles, a triple, 14 home runs, 46 RBI, 42 runs scored, 17 stolen bases, and 40 walks. 

LHP – Easton Lucas

Lucas in his first stint with the Tigers struggled appearing in three games posting a 14.73 ERA, a 2.34 FIP, a 3.00 WHIP, a 7.4 BB/9, and a 14.7 K/9 in 3.2 innings. With Toledo he’s appeared in 16 games going 1-1 with a 4.38 ERA, a 1.38 WHIP, a 4.4 BB/9, and an 11.7 K/9 in 24.2 innings. 

OF – Kerry Carpenter 

Carpenter has been out since May 26th. In 50 games he was hitting .283 with a .914 OPS; he had ten doubles, four triples, eight home runs, 29 RBI, 21 runs scored, and 11 walks.
