The Detroit Tigers play the middle game of their three-game series with the San Francisco Giants tonight. They took the first game yesterday by a score of 3-1 behind an RBI single from Dillon Dingler and a two-RBI single by Riley Greene. Keider Montero went five shutout innings, giving up just one hit. He walked two and struck out three. Ahead of today’s game, the Tigers placed outfielder Matt Vierling on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation. They also activated Wenceel Perez from the injured list. Vierling returned to the Tigers’ lineup on Friday. Since returning, he is hitting .182 with a .364 OPS. He has two RBI. Perez, in six rehab games, hit .222 with a .730 OPS. He had a double, a home run, three RBI, three runs scored, a stolen base, and a walk.

Matt Vierling

Vierling in 282 games with the Tigers is hitting .259 with a .723 OPS. He has 49 doubles, ten triples, 26 home runs, 103 RBI, 143 runs scored, 12 stolen bases, and 85 walks.

Wenceel Perez

Perez made his big league debut last season, playing in 112 games with Detroit. He hit .242 with a .683 OPS. Perez had 16 doubles, six triples, nine home runs, 37 RBI, 51 runs scored, nine stolen bases, and 32 walks.
