Detroit Tigers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Detroit Tigers return to the diamond today after having an off day yesterday following a 1-0 win on Opening Day over the Chicago White Sox which saw Tarik Skubal go six innings and not allow a run on three hits; he didn’t issue a walk and struck out six. Kenta Maeda will get the ball today and he is making his Tigers debut today as he goes up against Michael Soroka for the Chicago White Sox. Today the Tigers signed 26-year-old catcher Stephen Scott to a minor league contract.

Stephen Scott By The Numbers 

Scott last season spent time in the Boston Red Sox system playing at Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester. In 100 games he hit .235 with an .812 OPS; he had 16 doubles, two triples, 19 home runs, 66 RBI, 59 runs scored, six stolen bases, and 59 walks. Over four seasons in the Red Sox system he played in 335 games and hit .249 with a .813 OPS; he had 74 doubles, five triples, 48 home runs, 194 RBI, 210 runs scored, 21 stolen bases, and 210 walks.
