The Cincinnati Reds start a series against the Toronto Blue Jays today. The calendars have officially flipped to the final month of the 2025 season, and with that, rosters have also expanded. The rosters are now set at 28. Teams can’t have more than 14 pitchers. Today, the Reds called up their top prospect in infielder Sal Stewart and right-handed pitcher Yosver Zulueta from Triple-A Louisville. Stewart will make his debut today as he’s batting sixth playing first base.

Sal Stewart

The Reds drafted Stewart 32nd overall in the 2022 MLB Draft out of high school. Stewart this season in 118 games between Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Louisville hit .309 with a .907 OPS. He had 34 doubles, 20 home runs, 80 RBI, 78 runs scored, 17 stolen bases, and 46 walks. He is the 31st-ranked prospect in all of baseball. In four minor league seasons with the Reds he hit .289 with an .856 OPS. He had 85 doubles, a triple, 40 home runs, 202 RBI, 208 runs scored, 42 stolen bases, and 184 walks.

Yosver Zulueta

Zulueta in four games for the Reds this season posted a 5.06 ERA, a 0.94 WHIP, and three strikeouts in 5.1 innings. In 41 games at Triple-A, he went 2-1. He posted a 3.52 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, and had 69 strikeouts in 53.2 innings.
