Cincinnati Reds Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Cincinnati Reds today start a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Reds are 7-5 in August. They are averaging 3.9 runs per game while allowing 3.3 runs per game. Today the Reds placed right-handed pitcher Chase Burns on the 15-day injured list. The move is retroactive to August 12th with a Grade 1 right flexor strain. The Reds selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Joe La Sorsa from Triple-A Louisville. They also sent left-handed pitcher Wade Miley on a rehab assignment to Double-A Chattanooga.

Chase Burns

Burns this season in eight starts is 0-3. He posts a 5.24 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP, and 57 strikeouts in 34.1 innings. In 13 starts this season in the minors he is 7-3. He posts a 1.77 ERA, a 0.77 WHIP, and 89 strikeouts in 66 innings of work. 

Joe La Sorsa

La Sorsa in three games for the Reds this season posts an 11.57 ERA, a 2.57 WHIP, and a strikeout in 4.2 innings. In 40 games at Triple-A Louisville, he is 3-2. He posts a 2.70 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and 36 strikeouts in 40 innings.

Wade Miley

Miley is out with a left flexor strain. In three games with two of those coming as starts for the Reds, he is 1-0. Miley posts a 6.75 ERA, a 1.75 WHIP, and seven strikeouts in 12 innings. Before joining the Reds he pitched in the minors making seven starts going 1-2 with a 8.84 ERA, a 1.86 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts in 19.1 innings.
