Cincinnati Reds Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Cincinnati Reds lost to the San Fransico Giants yesterday 4-2 in Cactus League play. Today they face off against the Los Angeles Angels at 4:10 PM. Before the game today, the Reds announced two roster moves as they adjust the roster ahead of Opening Day. The Reds have seven games remaining this spring before heading home to Cincinnati. The Reds open the season against the Washington Nationals at home on Thursday, March 28th.

RHP – Michael Gil

Michael Gil was signed to a Minor League Contract today by the Reds. Gil is a six-foot-two, 170-pound right-hand free-agent pitcher. There is no news yet on where the Cardinals will be assigning the free agent within their Minor League System at this time. Gil could be a target for the Arizona Complex team once spring training ends.

RHP – Ayendy Pena

Ayendy Pena was signed to a Minor League Contract today by the Reds. Pena is a six-foot-one 172-pound right-hand pitcher. At this time there are no details regarding where the Reds will be assigning the free agent within their minor league system. Pena could be headed for the Arizona Complex team once spring training ends for the big league club.
