Cincinnati Reds Down on the Farm 5/20-5/26

The Cincinnati Reds Minor League Affiliate clubs have all kicked off their seasons. Checkin with the Top Ten Prospects

3B – Noelvi Marte – Suspended 80 Games

Marte is suspended for 80 games.

RHP – Rhett Lowder – Chatanooga Lookouts

Lowder made one start this past series, going 1.2 innings, allowing five hits, five earned runs, one walk, and two strikeouts. In his last start, he finished the outing with a 3.60 WHIP and a 27.00 ERA. His next start should be Wednesday, May 29th.

SS – Edwin Arroyo—out for the Year–Chattanooga Lookouts

Arroyo is out for the seaosn.

RHP – Connor Phillips – Louisville Bats

Phillips started one game this past week and didn’t factor into the decision. He allowed six hits, five earned runs, two home runs, five walks, and four strikeouts. He finished the outing with a 10.38 ERA and a 2.54 WHIP. He will make two starts in this series, with the first coming Tuesday, May 28th.

RHP – Chase Petty– Chattanooga Lookouts

Petty started one game during the six-game series. He had a rough go of it only recording one out before being removed from the game. He allowed four hits, six runs, four earned runs, and one walk. He finished the day with a 15.00 WHIP and a 108.00 ERA. He will look to rebound from the poor outing on Friday, May 31st.

3B – Cam Collier – Dayton Dragons

Cam Collier played in five games with 19 at-bats over the last seven days. He scored four runs, had five hits, one double, one home run, and four RBIs. He ended the series slashing .263/.250/.474 and had a .724 OPS.

3B – Sal Stewart – Dayton Dragons

Stewart played in six games in the last seven days. He received 21 at-bats, scoring five runs on seven hits, one double, two home runs, six RBIs, four walks, one stolen base, and one strikeout. He slashed .333/.423/.667 with a 1.090 OPS on the series.

SS – Richardo Cabrera – Daytona Tortugas

Cabrera played in six games over the last seven days; He had 26 at-bats, three runs, ten hits, three doubles, one triple, one home run, four RBIs, one walk, one steal, and nine strikeouts. He slashed .385/.429/.692 with a 1.121 OPS over the last seven days.

OF – Carlos Jorge – Dayton Dragons

Jorge played in five games over the last seven days. He had 21 at-bats, three runs scored, five hits, one double, two home runs, four RBIs, one walk, and struck out seven times. Over the last seven days, he slashed .238/.273/.571 with a .844 OPS.

RHP – Ty Floyd – Arizona Complex League

Floyd is on the 60-day IL.

The Week Ahead

Louisville Bats (AAA) (16-17)

The Triple-A Louisville Bats dealt with some bad weather this past week and won three of the four games they were able to finish against the Toledo Mudhens, the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, last week. They will host the Iowa Cubs this week, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. Iowa Cubs will have Cade Horton, Jordan Wicks, Owen Caissie, and Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Cub’s number-one ranked prospect.

Last week, the Lookouts played Mississippi Braves, the Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, and got swept. They will head on the road to take on the Tennessee Smokies and the Chicago Cubs top prospects Cade Horton, Kevin Alcantara, Matt Shaw, James Triantos, and Moises Ballerestos.
