The Boston Red Sox today start a series against the Baltimore Orioles. The Red Sox are 9-6 in August and are averaging 5.4 runs per game while allowing 3.7 runs per game. Ahead of tonight’s game, the Red Sox announced the signing of first baseman Nathaniel Lowe to a one-year contract for the 2025 season. The Red Sox also placed outfielder Rob Refsnyder on the 10-day injured list retroactive to August 15th with a left oblique strain. Nate Eaton was also recalled from Triple-A Worcester. The final move was the designation of catcher Ali Sánchez for assignment.
