The Boston Red Sox over the weekend won both games against the Tampa Bay Rays in the Dominican Republic. Today they return to Fort Myers to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates with Cooper Criswell on the mound making his fourth appearance and second start, he is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and six strikeouts in 6.2 innings. The Red Sox trimmed their roster ahead of today’s game by two more players.

Guerrero had a great spring with the Red Sox as he appeared in five games posting a 1-0 record with a 0.00 ERA, a 0.95 WHIP, and six strikeouts in 6.1 innings. He last pitched on Saturday going one inning, he didn’t allow a run or a hit; he did walk one and didn’t record a strikeout. Guerrero last season pitched at Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester making 49 appearances going 3-3 with a 2.32 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, and 68 strikeouts in 54.1 innings. At Worcester, he appeared in six games going 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA, a 2.35 WHIP, and nine strikeouts in 4.2 innings.
Andrew Politi
Politi this spring appeared in three games going 0-0 with a 3.00 ERA, a 1.33 WHIP, and three strikeouts in three innings. His last appearance came last Monday against the Tigers, he went one innings and didn’t issue a run or a hit; he walked two and struck out one. Last season Politi pitched at Triple-A Worcester making 54 appearances going 7-5 with a 4.45 ERA, a 1.44 WHIP, and 60 strikeouts in 58.2 innings.
