Boston Red Sox Down on the Farm 6/3-6/9

The Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate in Worcester took on the Rochester Red Wings and split their series. Their Double-A affiliate took on the Akron RubberDucks and they split as well. The High-A affiliate the Greenville Drive took on the Hickory Crawdads winning only one game. Their Single-A affiliate the Salem Red Sox took on Down East and they were the only one of the four teams to win their series taking four of the six games.

SS – Marcelo Mayer – Portland Sea Dogs

Mayer last week went 6-17 with two doubles, two RBI, three runs scored, one walk, and two stolen bases. He is hitting .300 with a .856 OPS; he has six home runs, and 29 RBI.

OF – Roman Anthony – Portland Sea Dogs

Anthony last week went 8-19 with four doubles, two home runs, four RBI, seven runs scored, one walk, and a stolen base. This season he is hitting .263 with a .835 OPS; he has five home runs, and 17 RBI.

C – Kyle Teel – Portland Sea Dogs

Teel last week went 4-22 with a double, three RBI, two runs scored, two walks, and a stolen base. This season he is hitting .291 with a .855 OPS; he has six home runs, and 37 RBI.

OF – Miguel Bleis – Salem Red Sox

Bleis last week went 3-12 with a double, four RBI, a run scored, and a walk. This season he is hitting .257 with a .747 OPS; he has four home runs, and 22 RBI.

RHP – Wikelman Gonzalez – Portland Sea Dogs

Gonzalez got the start on Sunday going 4.1 innings giving up seven runs on seven hits; he walked three, hit three, and struck out one. This season he is 3-2 with a 8.00 ERA, a 1.61 WHIP, and 36 strikeouts in 36 innings.

2B – Nick Yorke – Portland Sea Dogs/Worcester Red Sox

Yorke started the week in Portland going 2-4 with a run scored, and a walk. He then was promoted to Triple-A Worcester going 7-19 with a double, two home runs, six RBI, five runs scored, four walks, and a stolen base. This season between the two levels he is hitting .263 with a .743 OPS; he has six home runs, and 33 RBI.

RHP – Luis Perales – Portland Sea Dogs

Perales made his second start for Portland going 2.1 innings giving up two runs, one earned on two hits; he walked one and struck out three. He left the game and ended up one the 7-day injured list. This season he is 2-2 with a 2.94 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and 56 strikeouts in 33.2 innings.

SS – Yoeilin Cespedes – FCL Red Sox

Cespedes last week went 7-16 with two doubles, two home runs, six RBI, six runs scored, a walk, and three stolen bases. This season he is hitting .315 with a 1.009 OPS; he has four home runs, and 22 RBI.

RHP – Richard Fitts – Worcester Red Sox

Fitts got the ball on Sunday and suffered the loss going 5.1 innings giving up five runs, four earned on four hits; he walked five and struck out four. This season he is 4-2 with a 4.02 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP, and 45 strikeouts in 53.2 innings

SS/2B – Mikey Romero – Greenville Drive

Romero last week went 4-17 with a double, a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. This season he is hitting .286 with a .781 OPS; he has two home runs, and nine RBI.
