The Atlanta Braves start a three-game series with the New York Mets tonight at Citi Field. The Braves are 5-5 in August, averaging 4.4 runs per game while allowing 3.9 runs per game. It’s been a rough season in Atlanta as they are 16 games under .500 and sit 18 games back in the National League East and 12 games back in the National League Wild Card. It would take a magical two months for the Braves to have a shot at the playoffs.
