Atlanta Braves Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Atlanta Braves today play the middle game of their three-game series with the Chicago White Sox. The Braves dropped the opener last night, 13-9. With last night’s loss, the Braves fell to 10-7 in August, averaging 5.3 runs per game while allowing 4.6 runs per game. Ahead of tonight’s game, Atlanta adjusted its bullpen as it recalled right-handed pitchers Dane Dunning and Connor Seabold. To make room for the two, they optioned right-handed pitchers Daysbel Hernandez and Hunter Stratton to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Dane Dunning

Dunning has appeared in four games for the Braves, posting a 14.29 ERA, a 1.77 WHIP, and six strikeouts in 5.2 innings. In two games at Gwinnett, with one coming as a start, he is 1-0. Dunning posted a 0.82 ERA, a 0.46 WHIP, and nine strikeouts in 11 innings. In five games with the Rangers before being acquired by Atlanta, he posted a 3.38 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and ten strikeouts in 10.2 innings.

Connor Seabold

Seabold, in his lone game at Gwinnett, went two scoreless innings without giving up a single base runner. He also struck out four. In three games with the Rays, he posted a 1.35 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and five strikeouts in 6.2 innings. In 16 appearances, with ten of those coming as starts in Triple-A Durham for the Rays, he went 3-4. He posted a 6.49 ERA, a 1.48 WHIP, and 57 strikeouts in 61 innings.

Daysbel Hernandez

Hernandez, in 38 games for Atlanta this season, went 4-2 with a 2.72 ERA, a 1.49 WHIP, and 33 strikeouts in 36.1 innings. In three games at Triple-A Gwinnett, he is posting a 0.00 ERA, a 0.25 WHIP, and five strikeouts in four innings.

Hunter Stratton

Stratton in three games for Atlanta this season he hasn’t allowed a run in six innings. He’s allowed six hits, walked two, and struck out five. In three games for the Pirates, he posted a 23.63 ERA, a 4.50 WHIP, and a strikeout in 2.2 innings. In seven games between Double-A and Triple-A for Atlanta, he is 1-1 with a 0.96 ERA, a 0.75 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts in 9.1 innings.
