The Atlanta Braves today are taking on the Minnesota Twins with Chris Sale on the mound making his sixth and final Spring Training start, he is 0-2 with a 3.46 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, and 19 strikeouts in 13 innings. The Braves will face the Twins again tomorrow with Charlie Morton making his fourth appearance of the spring which will also be his third start, he is 2-1 with a 3.55 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts in 12.2 innings, with tomorrow’s game the Braves will wrap up Spring Training ahead of taking on the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday at 3:05 to start the 2024 season.

Braves Roster Moves By The Numbers
RHP – Jesse Chavez
Chavez spent this spring with the Chicago White Sox making seven appearances and one of those was a start, he went 0-1 with an 11.57 ERA, a 2.00 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in seven innings; he was released by the White Sox yesterday. Chavez has spent his 16-year career with nine different teams including the Braves whom he pitched for on three separate stints one of which was last year when he appeared in 36 games with one of those coming as a start he was 1-0 with a 1.56 ERA, a 3.05 FIP, a 1.09 WHIP, and 39 strikeouts in 34.2 innings.
RHP – Penn Murfee
Murfee didn’t pitch this spring. He spent last season with the Seattle Mariners making 16 appearances going 1-2 with a 1.29 ERA, a 4.26 FIP, a 1.07 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts in 14 innings. He was originally claimed off waivers by the New York Mets on October 31st before being claimed off waiver by the Braves on November 14th then he elected free agency on November 17th before the Braves signed him on November 30th now he will be a free agent again.
