Athletics Roster Moves 5/22/25

The Athletics have lost eight straight games and are now seven games back in the AL West. With a 22-28 record and a 1-9 record over their last ten games. They will look to avoid the sweep this afternoon against the Los Angeles Angels in game four of their series. The Phillies come to town for a weekend series tomorrow so the competition only gets tougher for the Athletics. Before today’s afternoon game, the Athletics made roster changes. They optioned left-hand reliever Matt Krook. They also called up right-hand pitcher Carlos Duran from Triple-A.

Carlos Duran

The Athletics have recalled right-hand pitcher Carlos Duran from the Las Vegas Navigators of Triple-A. Duran was traded from the Dodgers to the Athletics for Esteury Ruiz back on April 2nd of this year. He has made 11 appearances for the Las Vegas Navigators this year. Duran has two wins and a 7.71 ERA. He has made one start in Triple-A this year. Duran has worked 21 innings allowing 15 walks, and has struck out 21.

Matt Krook

The Athletics have optioned left-hand pitcher Matt Krook to Las Vegas today. Krook has pitched in three games this year for the Athletics. He has a 5.40 ERA, a 1.80 WHIP, and a .385 batting average against. In three and a third innings of work he has recorded one walk and struck out three. Krook will head back to Las Vegas. He has three wins and one loss on the season there. He also has a 3.21 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP in 14 innings of work.
