Arizona Diamondbacks Roster Moves

Arizona Diamondbacks Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Arizona Diamondbacks are 4-5 on the year so far. They opened the year by taking three of four from the Colorado Rockies. Then, they lost a series to the New York Yankees, winning only one game of three. Now, they are set to play the series finale against the Atlanta Braves, who lead the series two to nothing. The Dbacks will try to win the finale to build some momentum before taking on the Rockies again for another three-game set.

SS – Geraldo Perdomo

Perdomo was placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to April 4th with a right meniscus tear. So far this year, he has played in seven games with six hits, one double, and two RBIs. He has slashed .250/.333/.292 and a .625 OPS.

SS – Kevin Newman

The Diamondbacks selected Newman’s contract from the Reno Aces. So far this year at Triple-A, Newman has had one double, one triple, one home run, and seven RBIs. He is currently slashing .364/.407/.636 with a 1.043 OPS in his time with the ACES.

RHP – Corbin Martin

Martin was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks. Martin had pitched in two games for the Reno Aces this season. He pitched three innings, giving up three bits, three runs, one home run, and three walks, and struck out three in his time With the Aces.

Wrap up:

Hopefully, Perdomo’s injury isn’t going to keep him out too long. He is a spark plug for this team and has played good defense for the Diamondbacks so far. Kevin Newman is a serviceable Major League Shortstop; he spent several years with the Pittsburgh Pirates and a few times with the Cincinnati Reds. Offensively, he’s been raking in Triple-A, so hopefully, he can bring the hot bat up to the Majors and keep it rolling. Martin didn’t seem to stick with the Aces, so we will see where he sticks. The Diamondbacks hope to take at least the series finale against the Braves today before getting back on track with a three-game set with the Rockies and then host the St. Louis Cardinals at the end of next week!
