The Toronto Blue Jays start a three-game series tonight against the Boston Red Sox. The Blue Jays made a flurry of roster moves ahead of game one. Toronto’s lineup will feature outfielder Daulton Varsho as he was activated from the 10-day injured list today. The Blue Jays will have right-handed pitcher Casey Lawrence in the bullpen after he was claimed off waivers yesterday. To make room for Varsho and Lawrence, the Blue Jays optioned Paxton Schultz and Will Wagner to Triple-A Buffalo.

Daulton Varsho

Varsho, during his rehab stint, hit .120 with a .268 OPS. He has three RBI and a run scored. Last season in 136 games, he hit .214 with a .700 OPS. He had 21 doubles, seven triples, 18 home runs, 58 RBI, 73 runs scored, ten stolen bases, and 48 walks. In 577 career big league games, he’s hitting .225 with a .711 OPS. He has 89 doubles, 17 triples, 79 home runs, 240 RBI, 274 runs scored, 51 stolen bases, and 181 walks.

Casey Lawrence

Lawrence with Seattle this season in four games went 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and a 3.6 K/9. In Triple-A, he in two starts, posted a 4.35 ERA, a 1.55 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in 10.1 innings. Last season in Triple-A, he made 29 starts, going 11-11 with a 5.95 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and a 5.9 K/9.

Paxton Schultz

Schultz in two games with Toronto posted a 4.05 ERA, a 1.20 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts in 6.2 innings. In four games at Triple-A, he posted a 2.08 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and nine strikeouts in 8.2 innings. Last season at Buffalo, he went 6-4 with a 4.11 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and an 11.0 K/9.

Will Wagner

Wagner in 20 games hit .186 with a .504 OPS. He had two doubles, two RBI, four runs scored, a stolen base, and eight walks. Last season in 24 games with Toronto, he hit .305 with a .788 OPS. He had six doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, eight runs scored, and four walks. In seven games at Triple-A Buffalo, he hit .400 with a 1.116 OPS. He had two doubles, a home run, two RBI, six runs scored, and five walks.
