Probable Starting Pitchers

Game 1: José Soriano (1-0, 0.00 ERA) vs Gavin Williams (0-0, 3.60 ERA)

Williams and Soriano, 25 and 26, respectively, are both coming off strong starts in their season openers. While Williams held his opposition to 2 ER over 5.0 IP, Soriano looked even better, tossing 7.0 scoreless frames.

Game 2: Jack Kochanowicz (0-0, 3.00 ERA) vs Tanner Bibee (1-0, 0.00 ERA)

An even younger pairing, 26-year-old Bibee and the 24-year-old Kochanowicz, are coming off a pair of similarly strong starts. Bibee kept the offense in check over 5.2 IP, not allowing a run. Kochanowicz, almost as if in answer, went for 6.0 strong innings, only allowing 2 ER.

Game 3: Tyler Anderson (0-0, 5.40 ERA) vs Luis L. Ortiz (0-1, 13.50 ERA)

We have our first, and only, inflated ERA of the series, as Ortiz, in his last start, gave up 7 ER and only got through 4.2 IP. On the flip side, Anderson, who made an unremarkable start his last time out, is the only pitcher above 30 years old set to start in the series.

Player to Watch

Cleveland Guardians

A regular in the outfield, Steven Kwan is arguably the Guardians’ hottest hitter right now. Currently mashing a .348 BA, Kwan is also rocking a .922 OPS. The 2024 All-Star and 3-time Gold Glove winner seems ready to return to this year’s Midsummer Classic.

Los Angeles Angels

Mike Trout stands out as the player to watch for the home Angels. The 33-year-old all-world outfielder started the season cold, mustering only a .143 BA early in the season. However, he recently uncorked his first long ball of the year, and if Trout has found his rhythm, there’s no stopping him.
