The Seattle Mariners prepare for game two against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. They will be making a switch in the rotation before they take the field, however. Right-handed Hurler Bryce Miller will head back to the IL, while fellow righty Logan Evans gets recalled from Tacoma and gets the start.

Bryce Miller
Miller, clearly has not been himself this season. He is 2-5 with a 5.73 ERA and 1.52 WHIP on the season. Miller spent most of May on the 15-day Injured List and returned to the rotation after receiving a cortisone shot. That didn’t calm the pain for the 26-year-old. Miller made two starts between IL stints and was rocked for eight runs on 11 hits and a pair of walks with only four strikeouts in nine innings.

Logan Evans
Evans returns to the big leagues after a brief stint in Tacoma. Over his six starts with the Mariners earlier this season, Evans went 3-1 with a 2.83 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 25 strikeouts in 35 innings. This could be just a spot start for Evans. That is if the Mariners elect to keep Emerson Hancock in the rotation. In his last MLB start, Evans picked up the win after throwing eight innings of one-run ball. He also struck out four.
