Liam Doyle was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 3, 2004. He played high school baseball at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH. Doyle ranked as the top high school left-handed pitcher in New Hampshire.. He ranked 56th for left-handed pitchers in the country in 2022. He was the second-ranked player in New Hampshire and the 427th overall player nationally. In his junior and senior seasons, he combined to go 15-2 with a 0.68 ERA, and had 226 strikeouts in 113 innings. Doyle committed to playing college baseball at Coastal Carolina.

Doyle, in 2022 following graduation, played summer ball for the Nashua Silver Knights in New Hampshire. In three games, two of which came as starts, he went 2-0. Doyle posted a 2.84 ERA, a 1.11 WHIP, and had 14 strikeouts in 12.2 innings. In his first college season at Coastal Carolina, he made 23 appearances, seven of which came as starts, going 3-1 with a 4.15 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP, and 69 strikeouts in 56.1 innings. That summer, he played for Bourne of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In two starts, he didn’t record a decision, posting a 3.12 ERA, a 1.39 WHIP, and had eight strikeouts in 8.2 innings.

The next season, he transferred to Ole Miss, where he made 16 appearances, 11 of which came as starts, going 3-4. Doyle posted a 5.73 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP, and had 84 strikeouts in 55 innings. This season, he transferred to Tennessee, where he’s made 15 appearances, 14 of which have come as starts, going 9-3 with a 2.72 ERA, a 0.92 WHIP, and 137 strikeouts in 79.1 innings (as of May 19th). The 137 strikeouts lead the country. He’s been named the Southeastern Conference player of the year.

Doyle, as of May 17th, ranks as the tenth overall prospect in the 2025 MLB Draft. The latest mock draft by MLB.com has him going third overall to the Seattle Mariners
