Brock Porter was born in Milford, Michigan, on June 3, 2003. He played high school baseball at St. Mary’s Preparatory School in Orchard Lake Village, MI. He was the top-ranked RHP and the top-ranked overall player in Michigan. At St. Mary’s, he made 22 appearances, going 21-0 with a 0.52 ERA and 241 strikeouts in 121 innings; at the plate, he hit .406 with a .447 OBP, he had 28 hits, three doubles, seven home runs, 32 RBI, 14 runs scored, and three walks. Porter was ranked the second RHP in the country and the seventh overall player. He committed to play college baseball at Clemson University.
When Was Brock Porter Drafted?
Porter was the fifth-ranked high school prospect and the 11th overall prospect entering the 2022 draft, but he would fall to the fourth round when the Texas Rangers selected him, and he would forgo Clemson and join the Rangers system.

Porter’s first season with the Rangers, he debuted in the prospect rankings for MLB.com, coming in at 94th overall. He pitched a Single-A Down East, making 21 starts, going 0-3 with a 2.47 ERA, and had 95 strikeouts in 69.1 innings.

ITD ranks Porter as the 89th overall prospect and the Rangers fourth ranked prospect. He will likely start the season at High-A with the Hickory Crawdads.
