Philadelphia Phillies Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Philadelphia Phillies have trimmed their roster down to 45 following yesterday’s big 18-8 win over the Boston Red Sox. They’ve option right-handed pitcher Mick Abel down to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. They also reassigned four non-roster invitees as outfielders Gabriel Rincones Jr, and Matt Kroon, infielder Otto Kemp, and catcher Paul McIntosh reassigned.

Mick Abel

Abel this spring made one start getting the win. He went 1.2 innings giving up four runs, three earned on four hits; he walked one and struck out one. Last season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley he made 24 starts going 3-12 with a 6.46 ERA, a 1.81 WHIP, and 117 strikeouts in 108.2 innings. A former Top 100 prospect by ITD but things have gone down for him as of late.

Gabriel Rincones Jr.

Rincones this spring in 13 games hit .227 with a 1.029 OPS; he had three home runs, seven RBI, and five runs scored. Last season in 68 games he hit .252 with a .800 OPS; he had 16 doubles, a triple, 11 home runs, 32 RBI, and 41 runs scored.

Matt Kroon

Kroon this spring in 13 games hit .263 with a .865 OPS; he had a double, a home run, three RBI, and four runs scored. Last season at High-A Jersey Shore and Triple-A he played in 82 games hitting .248 with a .755 OPS; he had 14 doubles, 11 home runs, 40 RBI, and 37 runs scored.

Otto Kemp

Kemp in 13 games hit .350 with a 1.058 OPS; he had three doubles, a triple, four RBI, and four runs scored. He spent time at every level except rookie ball in 2024. He played in 123 games hitting .285 with a .881 OPS; he had 24 doubles, nine triples, 16 home runs, 66 RBI, and 82 runs scored.

Paul McIntosh

McIntosh in seven games went 0-8 with two runs scored. Last season in the Miami Marlins system he played at Double-A Pensacola playing in 117 games hitting .246 with a .725 OPS; he had 18 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, 55 RBI, and 50 runs scored.
