They have designated two left-hand pitchers for assignment, while recalling one pitcher from Syracuse and selecting the contract of another.

Richard Lovelady designated for assignment

The New York Mets have designated Richard Lovelady for assignment. The left-hand pitcher struggled again yesterday against the Braves. He recorded five outs, walked two, and allowed two earned runs in his outing. Lovelady has a 16.20 ERA over three games this season for the Mets. He has only pitched three and one-third innings while with the Mets. He has struck out four and recorded a 2.10 WHIP this year.

Jose Castillo designated for assignment

The New York Mets are designating Castillo for assignment after suffering the loss in last night’s game against the Braves. The left-hand pitcher has two losses this year with a 5.60 ERA and a 1.98 WHIP. Castillo has 17 strikeouts while with the Mets this year.

Brandon Waddell Recalled from Syracuse

The New York Mets have recalled left-handed pitcher Brandon Waddell from Triple-A today. Waddell has already made four appearances this season for the Mets. He has yet to factor in a decision over his ten and two-thirds innings pitched. Waddell has a 3.38 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP, and has struck out seven so far this year.

Jonathan Pintaro contract selected by Mets

The New York Mets have selected the contract of right-hand pitcher Jonathan Pintaro from the Syracuse Mets today. Yesterday, Pintaro was assigned to the Syracuse Mets in Triple-A from the Binghamton Rumble Ponies of Double-A. He has made 11 starts this season in Double-A, recording two losses. Pintaro has pitched in 42 and one-third innings for Binghamton this year. He has a 3.40 ERA, a 1.11 WHIP, and 57 strikeouts.
