The Minnesota Twins start a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals. The Twins are coming off being swept by the Chicago White Sox, in which they were outscored 33-19. Ahead of tonight’s game, the Twins are activating right-handed pitcher Pablo Lopez from the 60-day injured list. To make room for Lopez, they are optioning right-handed pitcher Noah Davis. Pablo Lopez will get the ball tonight for the Twins in the series opener against the Royals.

Pablo Lopez

Lopez this season in 11 starts is 5-3. He has a 2.82 ERA, a 1.07 WHIP, and 61 strikeouts in 60.2 innings. In four rehab starts, he went 0-2. Lopez posted a 2.81 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP, and 18 strikeouts in 16 innings. In 169 career big league starts, he is 59-52 with a 3.84 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP, and 982 strikeouts in 950 innings.

Noah Davis

Davis, in four games with the Twins this season he is 0-1 with a 16.20 ERA, a 2.60 WHIP, and seven strikeouts in five innings. In ten games at St. Paul, he is 1-0 with a 3.97 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts in 11.1 innings. Davis also pitched for the Dodgers this season, appearing in five games, going 0-1. He posted a 19.50 ERA, a 2.50 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in six innings. In 21 games at Triple-A for the Dodgers, he was 3-0 with a 3.94 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts in 32 innings.
