Milwaukee Brewers Roster Moves 4/14

Milwaukee Brewers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The 10-3 NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers have announced several roster moves today. The Brewers have taken two of the first three games against the Baltimore Orioles in a three-game set. They have done so, outscoring Baltimore 22-6 which is very impressive and they face Corbin Burnes in game three today. This Brewers offense is for real and the pitching has been solid to start the new season. It will be interesting to see if they can continue the success against their former ace on Sunday afternoon.

OF – Garrett Mitchell

The Brewers transferred Mitchell from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list with his fractured left index finger. Mitchell played in 14 games this spring before breaking his finger. He was slashing .319/.385/.426 with a .811 OPS this spring.

RHP – J.B. Bukauskas

The Brewers place Bukauskas on the 15-day injured list with a right lat strain. He has pitched in six games this season getting six innings of work. In those innings he has allowed three hits, one earned run, one walk, and struck out six hitters. He has a 1.50 ERA and a 0.67 WHIP on the season.

SS – Andruw Monasterio

The Brewers optioned Monasterio to Triple-A Nashville Sounds today. While with the Brewers he had seven at-bats, scored two runs, walked twice, and struck out once.

LHP – Jared Koenig

The Brewers selected the contract of LHP Koenig from the Nashville Sounds. He has pitched in four games and worked 4.2 innings while with Nashville. He has allowed two hits, one earned run, two walks, and struck out eight. He has a 1.93 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP while pitching for the Sounds.

OF – Joey Wiemer

The Brewers recalled Wiemer from the Triple-A Nashville Sounds today. He has played in 13 games for the Sounds this season. He has 11 hits, seven runs scored, four doubles, one home run, six RBIs, eight walks, and 14 strikeouts while playing for Nashville.

Wrap Up:

The Brewers call up a familiar face in Wiemer who played in 132 games last year for the big club. He had 13 home runs and 42 RBIs last season for Milwaukee but struggled getting on base consistently with a .645 OPS last year. Koenig is a talented left-hand pitcher who should help the bullpen that has been decent to the start of the season. This Brewers team is deep and is fun to watch!
