This evening the defending American League Champion Toronto Blue Jays are acquiring right-handed reliever Chase Lee from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for a minor leaguer Johan Simon. Lee can be sent to the minor leagues to provide the Blue Jays with reliever depth. Lee this past season made 32 appearances for the Tigers going 4-1. He posted a 4.10 ERA, a 1.10 WHIP, and 36 strikeouts over 37.1 innings. Lee also appeared in 23 games at Triple-A Toledo. He went 1-1 with a 6.47 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts in 32 innings. Simon pitched at three levels this season making 31 appearances going 3-3 with a 3.42 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and 79 strikeouts in 71 innings.

Chase Lee
Lee in five minor league systems between two organizations has made 165 appearances with five of those coming as starts. He went 8-11 with a 4.13 ERA, a 1.33 WHIP, 275 strikeouts in 204.2 innings. The Tigers acquired him from the Rangers at the 2024 trade deadline.
Johan Simon
Simon over five seasons in the Blue Jays system has made 62 appearances with ten of those coming as starts. He went 10-8 with a 3.73 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP, and 167 strikeouts in 147 innings.
