The Cincinnati Reds have optioned Connor Phillips back to Triple-A today before game two with the Red Sox. Connor Phillips was used last night during the loss to the Red Sox, pitching five innings. He allowed five hits, four earned runs, four walks, and struck out four. He has one win on the season and a 7.20 ERA while pitching for the big league club this year. The Reds bullpen needs some fresh arms, so Phillips will head back to Louisville today before the game.
Sam Benschoter
The Cincinnati Reds have selected the contract of Sam Benschoter from the Louisville Bats. Benschoter has pitched in 21 games, including four starts for Louisville this season. He has a 4-2 record with a 4.06 ERA this season. The right-handed pitcher will be making his MLB debut if given the ball.

The Cincinnati Reds have recalled Sam Moll from the Louisville Bats today. Moll has made three appearances already for the Reds this season with an 18.00 ERA over two innings of work. Things haven’t gone much better for him in Triple-A this season. In 20 games pitched, he has a 7.79 ERA, 1.96 WHIP, and allowed opposing teams a .333 batting average against this year.

The Cincinnati Reds have optioned Joe La Sorsa to Triple-A today ahead of their game with the Red Sox. La Sorsa has pitched in three games for the Reds this season with an 11.57 ERA over four and two-thirds innings. He pitched in last night’s blowout loss to the Red Sox. He allowed two runs on five hits over two and two-thirds innings of work. He has given up a total of six earned runs on the year with just one strikeout. He will continue his season with the Louisville Bats in Triple-A.
