Chicago White Sox Roster Moves 4/26

Chicago White Sox Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Chicago White Sox are 3-22 entering play today when they take on the Tampa Bay Rays for a three-game series. They were just swept by the Minnesota Twins last series and will have a rematch starting Next Monday, April, 29th. The team has really struggled this season to score runs and has been hit by the injury bug with top stars, Luis Roberts, Yoan Moncada, and Eloy Jimenez. Today before the game the team has announced a series of moves to the roster as they attempt to become more competitive.

LF – Rafael Ortega

The White Sox selected the contract of Ortega from the Charlotte Knights ahead of tonight’s game. he has played in 18 games with 11 runs scored, 14 hits, two doubles, three home runs, 14 RBIs, six stolen bases and a .241 batting average.

LF – Kevin Pillar

Pillar was designated for assignment ahead of the game today by the White Sox. He has played in 17 games and only had four hits leaving him with a .160 batting average while with the White Sox.

LHP – Bailey Horn

The White Sox designated Horn for assignment today. Horn pitched in nine games for the Charlotte Knights with one win, one loss, and an 11.32 ERA on the year.

CF – Dominic Fletcher

The White Sox optioned Fletcher to Triple-A to play for the Charlotte Knights today. Fletcher has played in 20 games with 12 hits, six RBIs, and 20 strikeouts. He has been slashing .203/.277.271 with a .548 OPS on the year.

OF – Tommy Pham

The White Sox selected the contract of Pham today from the Charlotte Knights. Pham has played in four games for Charlotte with three runs scored, five hits, one double, one RBI, and two steals. He has been slashing .294/.333/.353 with a .686 OPS in four games.

Wrap Up:

The White Sox don’t have enough young ready talent in the minors to fill the gaps left by those injured so they have been throwing just about everything at the wall to see what sticks. I think the addition of Tommy Pham will work he’s a veteran outfielder who has produced everywhere he goes and plays good enough defense not to hurt you in the field. Regardless of the moves the team unfortunately just doesn’t have enough talent right now to compete.
